Christmas Time Is Here!

Here are my little elves feverishly working on decorating cookies! I remember when they were younger and I would bake all kinds of sugar cookies and then they would only decorate 2 and say they were tired. Well, you guessed it.....then I would sit for the next hour finishing up the job. However, now that they are older I work them like a dog and no one eats or plays until all cookies are done! We had one bad elf in our group though......no it's not Mitch......how could you even think that it would be Nick....shame on you......it was MIKE!

Here's how Mike became a bad elf.........

I must have told Mike 100 times that I only had so much frosting so he needed to go a little lighter on his cookies. But what the heck do I know? I'm only the one who actually made the frosting! As my little elves are listening to Christmas music, we notice that we are out of red frosting! What? I made a ton! However, we are survivors ......so we move on! Next thing I hear is the scraping of the knife in the bowl that contained the yellow frosting! Nick looks up, with sweat dripping from his brow and says "I've been only putting on a little frosting". Then we all glance at Mike (who's happily whistling Christmas carols) and look at his pile of cookies. His cookies are piled high with so much frosting that the dining room table was bending from the weight! Mike looks at all of us and says...."What! We'll have enough frosting!" We resume our work (while glaring at Mike) and try to make our frosting last to the final cookie. We put the frosting on so thin that it looks like a piece of tissue paper. We hear the familar scraping sound and look at our pile of delicious cookies only to see that there is one left that is not frosted. A worrisome look comes over Nick and Mitch's face as Mike looks smug at each and everyone of us. So what is Mike's solution? What will Mike do? Will Mike admit he was wrong and that we didn't have enough frosting? Well, guess what he did?

HE ATE THE DANG COOKIE AND SAID "SEE, I TOLD YOU WE'D HAVE ENOUGH"!

Therefore, my big shout out for the week goes to my wonderful husband Mike! He's celebrating his birthday this weekend! (he'll be 43) Mike is the most unselfish person I've ever met! He'll even take the fall for a cookie dilemma! What a guy! So if you ever have a problem with your "cookies" just call on Mike, he'll fix it in a jiffy!
