Sunrise.....Sunset!

Our vacation at Greenlake was fabulous! This is how the sunset looked from the pier the first night we were there. We had great weather and fished nearly everyday. Joan & John left their jetski for us to use and the boys loved cruising around the lake with it. (sometimes going way too fast!) In fact, Mitch dumped himself and Mike while making a sharp turn!

Speaking of fishing......Mike caught the biggest fish! Peg and I weren't around to see it, but Mitch taped the whole thing, so we got watch it later! Who says there isn't any fish left in that lake? Of course, when you are out at Greenlake you need to play games! Everynight we played some kind of game.....Euchre, Trains, LCR, Sheephead, 7 up/7 down......

Oh yes! Nick did finally come home from camp! Thanks to all of you who emailed me to calm my fears! He had such a great time and said he only missed us a little bit! He looks forward to going to camp again next year. I think I'll be better next year!

Here's the hot-air balloon that was passing over the pier at Greenlake. We heard the "whoosh" of the gas and looked up! What a beautiful sight! Don said that a few weeks back it was right over the treetops, that they actually could talk to the balloonist! How cool is that?

Well, another summer is over........and SCHOOL STARTS SOON! I can't wait to having my house quiet! No more lunches to make.....no more fighting.....no more basketball camps......no more driving to friends houses........

I'm soooooo lonely........

Nick left for camp on Sunday for a week and I can't believe how lonely I am without him! He's never been away from us for more than 3 days! We can't write to him, call him.....nothing! I sent him two letters and eagerly await to hear from him through the mail. With Nick being gone this past week I noticed a few things.....

1. I can't sleep at night! I have awaken each day at 4am and can't get back to sleep. I think about what he's doing and whether or not he's having fun.

2. Mitch is bored! He talks and talks and talks! He wants me to entertain him constantly! He has no one to play basketball with, no one to wrestle with and no one to pick on! He hates to admit it.......but he really misses his baby brother.

3. Mike and I sit around at night and all we talk about is Nick! What do you think he's doing? Do you think he's having fun? Do you think he's met any new friends? Do you think he's homesick? Yada....yada....yada!

4. I miss the little things.........Each morning he wakes up and says "Mornin' Mom". Each meal he says "Whatta we havin' for dinner?" Each evening he says "Goodnight Mom, I love you".

5. Most of all......I miss his "smell"! Sounds wierd, I know! But Nick has this "smell" about him! Not a bad smell, just a sweet boy smell!

Well, today we leave for Greenlake....Mike, Mitch and myself...no Nick. But tomorrow....Mike is picking Nick up and I'll see him for the first time in a week! I can't wait! I'm going to hug him and smell him! I hope he's just as excited to see us!

I have a couple of "shout-outs" this week.....

Congratulations to Chris on passing his driving test! Whoo! Whoo!

Congratulations to David and Lisa on their new son Thomas Frank Gersbacher!

Most of all....Happy, Happy, Birthday to my baby Nick! He'll be 11 next week and gets to celebrate it at the lake!

I'll be off for a week while I am on vacation.....until next time!

A Weekend at Greenlake!

What a great time at Greenlake! We were there with Peg, Don & Chris and had wonderful weather. In the wee hours of the morning we went fishing and it was so quiet and serene. I caught 9 fish, Mike caught 1, Mitch caught 2 and Nick caught 1 (and the raft on the other pier!) Of course we ate too much and drank too much, but we had too much fun! Mitch and Chris are shown here before they go kneeboarding! Look how white their feet are!

Here's Nick on his boogie board! There aren't a lot of big waves on the lake, but Nick just loves to be the water......all day! My best purchase this summer? Those swimming goggles that Nick has on! You see......Nick has bad eyesight and would always have to swim without being able to see. He told Mike and I that he loves wakeboarding, kneeboarding, etc; but that it sucks because he can't see the boat. That was until I ordered him prescription swim goggles! Now he's able to see all the time and not have to worry about his glasses. I actually got them a little stronger than what he needs, so hopefully they'll last through next year!

Mitch is at another basketball camp this week with Rick Majerus! (he used to coach Marquette and played at Marquette) Majerus actually took Mitch aside and told him that he's improved a lot! Boy did that pump Mitch's ego! He couldn't contain himself when I picked him up!

Nick is getting ready for his week at camp! He's never been away for this long and he's assured me that he'll be fine! (did they ever capture Big Foot, yet?) Mitch and I (and his buddy Nathan) are going to State Fair on Wednesday, so they are really looking forward to eating and going on the rides. I'm just there to make sure that all those girls keep away from these two good looking guys! I'll post some pics from State Fair next week.

Now back to packing Nick!
